Greenwald slams ‘reporters’ who ‘most pushed’ the Trump Alfa Bank lie

by WorldTribune Staff, May 22, 2022

It was revealed in testimony at the criminal trial of Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on Friday that Hillary Clinton gave the green light to campaign operatives to distribute the bogus Trump-Russia collusion Alfa Bank story to the media.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, left, and The Atlantic’s Franklin Foer and Natasha Bertrand are ‘all smirking as they deliberately pronounce an absolute lie invented by the Clinton campaign.’

When asked by a prosecutor on special counsel John Durham’s team about the highest level of approval for pushing the Alfa Bank claims to the press, Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager Robby Mook replied that “John (Podesta) and I were involved,” but “I discussed it with Hillary as well” after the campaign team had discussed it.

Mook said that he framed it to Clinton as:

“Hey, you know, we have this, and we want to share it with a reporter.” Mook added, “She agreed to that.”

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald broke down the history of the lie in a series of tweets on May 21 and slammed the two “reporters,” The Atlantic’s Natasha Bertrand and Franklin Foer, who were at the center of spreading it.
