Time warp hit WorldTribune.com

by WorldTribune Staff, May 1, 2018

At about 3 p.m. Eastern time on May 1, several days of content at WorldTribune vanished into cyberspace. How could this happen? Here’s what we know.

In the past month we have added an additional Firewall to repel “unauthorized” bots from all over the world that were causing the site to crash or run slow. Late last week, we upgraded our servers to accommodate growing traffic. Apparently the Firewall was working off a cache of the old account rather than the new account which synched in this afternoon.
