A survivor of the massacre at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub said he heard Muslim terrorist Omar Mateen demand the United States halt its bombing of Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) in Syria.

Mateen “called 911 and was making a statement that America needs to stop bombing ISIL in Syria,” said Orlando Torres, who survived the attack.

“And then two seconds later he repeated the same thing because in between they were probably asking him questions, he repeated the same statement.”

Reports said Mateen had claimed allegiance to the terrorist organization during the same 911 call.

Torres, a promoter for club Pulse, said he took refuge in the club’s restroom with his friend and put his body against the door to prevent Mateen from entering.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for the Orlando attack and called Mateen a “soldier of the caliphate.”

Investigators believe Mateen had cased club Pulse multiple times prior to the attack. He also had reportedly surveilled Disney Springs (formerly known as Downtown Disney).
