A number of parents nationwide will keep their children home from school on April 23 in protest of what they say are graphic sex education programs sponsored by such groups as Planned Parenthood and the Human Rights Campaign, reports say.
Organizers of the Sex Ed Sit Out say they will meet at various locations to hold press events and field media questions, according to conservative news sites including WND.com.
Rhonda Miller, education chairwoman of the Indiana Liberty Coalition and one of the protest organizers, said: “Follow the money. Comprehensive sex ed is being rolled out across America, often sponsored by special interest LGBT groups like Human Rights Campaign, and disguised as anti-bullying programs. If it’s not okay for special interest groups like the NRA to be buying classroom time to push their agenda, then how is it okay for HRC monies to be buying schools off to teach gender-bending ideology and anal sex tutorials?”
Radio host Rush Limbaugh, in his April 5 broadcast, noted that today’s sex ed classes are teaching such things as “Asphyxiation. Gender bending. Anal sex. … Rimming. Do you know what rimming is? I’m talking about the public school sex education curriculum Planned Parenthood has entered into many public schools in America. They’re teaching rimming. They’re teaching anal sex. They’re teaching gender bending. They’re teaching asphyxiation and BDSM.”
“There’s a part of me that thinks the entire education system just needs to be torched, burned to the ground, and rebuilt,” Limbaugh said. “It is so insidiously tainted. I don’t know what the way out of this is, other than a reboot. It needs to be disinfected.”
Writing for PJ Media, columnist Megan Fox noted that “Planned Parenthood has already been caught on video by Live Action advising a girl they think is 15-years-old to allow her boyfriend to beat, whip, and gag her. These are the same people that taxpayers want educating their kids in schools? I can’t imagine why anyone would want this, and neither can a group of fed up parents” who organized the Sex Ed Sit Out.
“It is issues like this where conservatives need to be in the streets demanding that schools stop catering to the depraved minority at the expense of children,” Fox wrote. “If parents do not rise up and stop the sexual abuse of their own offspring, then they will deserve what they will get – sexually exploited, disturbed, confused, and sick children.”
Parents groups are also organizing a walkout to protest the nationwide Day of Silence at schools on April 27.
The Day of Silence is sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which on its website says the event encourages K-12 students to “take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ people at school.”
The Day of Silence Walk Out says on its website that “Parents must actively oppose this hijacking of the classroom for political purposes. Please join the national effort to reclaim a proper understanding of the role, and limits of public education. Help de-politicize the learning environment by calling your child out of school if your child’s school allows students and/or teachers to refuse to speak during instructional time on the Day of Silence.”
