As President-elect Trump’s cabinet nominee team takes shape, Beijing is beginning to panic over an imminent new reality: The new administration’s reaction against China will be swift and robust.

Even before Trump took a call from Taiwan’s new president, sparking an uproar among Beijing-influenced officials, ex-officials and pundits in Washington, other developments were signaling a change in the U.S. foreign policy consensus.
