Former Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Adrian Dingle died suddenly on Tuesday. He was 45.
No cause of death was reported.
Dingle, who played for the Chargers from 2000 to 2004, was engaged to be married to the mother of his two young children.
An obituary was posted to the Shuler-Marshall Funeral Home in Holly Hill, South Carolina: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Adrian K. Dingle of Winthrop, MA, formerly of Holly Hill. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.”
Dingle had career highs of six sacks and 16 total tackles for loss in 2003.
Dingle was selected by the Chargers in the fifth round of the 1999 NFL draft out of Clemson where he was an All-ACC defensive end. As a senior in 1998, he posted 10.5 sacks, a school record at the time.
His 180 tackles are still 11th in Clemson history and his 23 sacks ranks sixth.
