Hu denounces U.S. ‘cultural imperialism,’ calls for ‘forceful measures’

Chinese President Hu Jintao revealed Beijing’s continued his commitment to Communist ideology last week when he denounced what he called cultural imperialism from hostile Western forces.

Hu told Communist Party members that hostile forces are seeking to divide and westernize China and called for opposing all efforts to change the communist system.

“We must clearly see that international hostile forces are intensifying the strategic plot of westernizing and dividing China, and ideological and cultural fields are the focal areas of their long-term infiltration,” Hu said, according to state media.

China has accused the United States of seeking to contain and stifle Beijing’s development based on anti-communism.
