Alabama may have just made history. The state has passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country. It bans all abortions during any time of a woman’s pregnancy. The only exception is if the life of a mother is in danger. Otherwise, no other exceptions — even in the case of rape or incest.
The law was crafted not to be enforced, but to go to the conservative majority on the Supreme Court. The goal: To finally have the high court overturn Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion and made it a federally guaranteed “right.”
Since the 1973 decision, over 55 million unborn babies have been murdered — annihilated and butchered in the womb.
It is America’s Holocaust, the great genocide of our time. That liberals continue to support this barbaric practice shows how depraved and morally bankrupt they are.
Alabama’s Human Life Protection Act is not perfect; I support rape and incest exceptions. But they are exceedingly rare — the overwhelming number of abortions are not due to sexual assault or incest or rape. They are the result of unwanted pregnancies. Innocent children are murdered because they are an inconvenience.
Alabama lawmakers drafted the bill in order to frontally challenge the reasoning and legal position of Roe. The 1973 ruling declared that a baby inside a mother’s womb is not a person, and therefore is not entitled to any legal or constitutional protection. The Alabama law, however, stipulates the very opposite: an unborn child is a person — a human being who deserves dignity and protection like any other citizen. Hence, regardless of the circumstances of the baby’s conception, including something as heinous as rape or incest, the unborn child is a person living within the womb and has inherent individual rights, especially the right to life. The law seeks to force the Supreme Court to deal directly with the fundamental basis of Roe. This is why it says nothing about the morning-after pill; nothing about contraception; and nothing about the moment of conception.
The media and political establishment has gone berserk, decrying the law as “backwards,” “regressive” and taking women back to the “dark ages.” In fact, liberal activists are vowing to descend upon Alabama and protest until the state is brought to heel. Alyssa Milano will probably declare another sex strike against the people of Alabama.
The real reason for the Left’s hysteria and fear-mongering is simple: The pro-life movement is slowly becoming unstoppable. Alabama follows other states, such as Georgia and Mississippi that have passed heartbeat bills into law. Other states — Louisiana, Missouri and Iowa — are poised to pass similar legislation. This is because feminists and progressives have been peddling pernicious nonsense.
Abortion is not only the taking of a human life. It leaves serious physical, emotional and psychological scars on the women who have them — wounds that never heal. It goes against the very nature, the very essence of womankind.
What distinguishes women from men (among other things) is their ability to have and bear children. This is why mothers are rightly revered and hold a special status in society; every human being comes from the mother’s womb. Without them, society could not reproduce, propagate or survive. Abortion is violence against the womb.
Progressives are using the Handmaid’s Tale memes to claim Alabama’s law is a major blow to women’s rights. It isn’t. In fact, it is a direct assault on sexism and racism.
The majority of abortions performed in America terminate female babies. Moreover, the overwhelming victims of abortion are minorities. For example, more than 13 million black babies have been exterminated since Roe. In Alabama, the abortion industry’s biggest client is black mothers. Sixty percent of the abortions in the state involve black babies, as opposed to 36 percent conducted on white mothers. Liberals are supporting a murderous procedure that is not only anti-woman but anti-minority.
Yet, Planned Parenthood and their leftist allies don’t care. Instead, when New York passed its odious infanticide law, legalizing the killing of a baby born alive during a botched abortion — even if that child is fully developed and over 40 weeks old, i.e. after being nine months in the womb — progressive state senators stood up, cheered and thunderously applauded. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio even lit up the skyline in pink to celebrate open infanticide.
Which begs the question: What did the liberals expect? Do they really believe that such extreme, frankly perverse and diabolical abortion laws will not engender massive public opposition — if not outright disgust? Alabama’s law is a direct reaction to New York’s. But with one crucial difference: pro-life activists, unlike the wild pro-choice mob, did not threaten to bring New York to its knees with massive, non-stop protests. Instead, all the people of Alabama want is to be left alone to run their own internal affairs.
Liberalism is based on imperialism. Liberals want to impose degenerate New York values on Alabama — and the rest of the country. The citizens of Alabama, however, only want to govern their state along traditional Christian lines. This is why I support the repeal of Roe. It is not only immoral but bad constitutional law. It strikes at the heart of federalism.
As a constitutionalist, I believe abortion should be devolved to the states, which is where it lay prior to Roe. It is — and should be — a states’ rights issue. This means that, if Roe is overturned, abortion rights will not disappear, contrary to the lies of the liberal media. The baby-killers in New York, Massachusetts and California will continue to allow late-term abortions. But conservatives, who still believe in human dignity and civilized decency, will finally be allowed to foster and protect a culture of life in traditionalist states, such as Alabama, Utah and Texas. A return to federalism would not only significantly reduce the intensity of America’s culture wars. More importantly, it would begin to restore our constitutional and moral sanity.
It’s no wonder the Left fears and loathes Alabama. The state may have just triggered a political earthquake that will reverberate for generations to come.
