The rare quote of praise was posted to Twitter on Feb. 14 by Zvika Klein, a reporter for Makor Rishon.

Sisi told a delegation of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in Cairo that Netanyahu is “a leader who possesses great powers, which assist him not only to lead his country, but can also advance the region and the entire world.”

When asked if the quote was authentic, Klein said it indeed was.

In his meeting with the American Jewish leaders on Feb. 11, Sisi discussed Israel-Egypt relations, the Middle East peace process and regional threats with the delegation of 40 members of the group. The Egyptian president mentioned the threats posed by terrorist organizations such as Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) and their affiliates as well as the danger from Iran after the signing of the nuclear agreement.

The Jewish leaders said the two-hour meeting in Cairo with Sisi was “very productive” and said they “were impressed by Sisi’s analysis on a wide variety of issues,” according to EJP.
