ABU DHABI — Bahrain has gained expertise in the exploration of
natural gas.
Officials said the Bahrain Energy Ministry and the state-owned Bahrain
Petroleum Co., or Bapco, have overseen projects that called for deep
exploration of gas, Middle East Newsline reported.
They cited energy exploration projects in the Gulf
Cooperation Council kingdom over the last 40 years.

"Bahrain was the first in the Middle East that tested for deep gas in
the 1970s," Bapco chief executive officer Faisal Al Mahroos said. "Since
then we have drilled five wells and developed a lot of expertise and
know-how in deep gas field development. The wells have provided us with a
lot of seismic information that will help us move ahead."
In an address to the Deep Gas Conference and Exhibition in Manama on
Jan. 24, officials said Bahrain could provide help to other countries that
were planning deep gas projects. About half of the energy projects today
have involved deep energy reserves.
"We are here to share our know-how in taking projects to production," Al
Mahroos said.
Comments
Oh, sorry, but they are still years behind the U.S. in deep gas recovery.
But I'm sure that their efforts are still very much ahead of other ME countries.
I'm sure they will share....
