On Jan. 24, Trump signed an executive order to speed up the rebuilding of Western North Carolina roads.
“Today, I’ll also be signing an executive order slashing all red tape and bureaucratic barriers and permits to ensure the rapid reconstruction of the roads here in Western North Carolina,” said Trump. “We’re going to go through a permitting process that’s called no permitting, just get it done, that’s the way they built them many years ago, I guarantee you that.”
Trump’s order states: “To accelerate rebuilding and community recovery, the Secretary of Transportation, the Secretary of Homeland Security, acting through the Administrator of FEMA, and the Administrator of the Small Business Administration shall immediately take all necessary and appropriate measures, including through direct assistance, loans, and other available means, to expedite roadway clearance or rebuilding, including the section of Interstate 40 in North Carolina that remains closed, and the repair or rebuilding of roads and bridges on private property in areas of North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.”
“I promised that I’d come back to Western North Carolina to help the people of the state. We’ll be at your side through every step of the rebuilding, and no American is going to be left behind.” –President Trump pic.twitter.com/uEUU39IMMS

Many families who said they felt abandoned by the Biden-Harris administration are still living in tents amid a brutal winter.
“FEMA has really let us down, let the country down. And I don’t know if that’s Biden’s fault or whose fault that is,” Trump told reporters after he touched down in Asheville. ‘We’re going to take over, we’re going to do a good job.”
The hurricane and flooding that followed took nearly 100 lives and damage and recovery efforts are estimated at more than $53 billion.
“To make matters worse, the Biden regime acted as if this disaster never even happened—likely because much of that neck of the woods is ‘red’ and supported President Trump,” Revolver News noted.
