The Energy Ministry official said the government of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan has not responded amid tensions with Israel.

“Israel has made a bid to build a pipeline to Turkey within last two
weeks,” the official told the Turkish daily Hurriyet.

“But we have a policy regarding Israel, and the claims that Turkey leans towards this idea is not true.”

Officials said Israeli officials and executives have traveled to Turkey
to discuss the pipeline project. They said the $2 billion project would
involve Turkey’s Zorlu Group.
