The media’s bullying of the American people: A Persian perspective

According to Time, in quoting Univision’s activist-reporter Jorge Ramos, “reporters need to get tougher on Donald Trump” despite the interactions between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Ramos having been recorded and shared with the public, questions about whether Ramos is an authentic reporter, and the revelation that Ramos’ daughter Paola works for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Iranians, the ancient and widely-spread Avestan-Aryan branch of the Indo-European language family, have a word for mainstream media and agenda-driven writers such as Jorge Ramos – پررو (a compound word pronounced “por-roo” roughly translated as “full of face” — that is, “barefaced, brazen, impudent”).

Leading by example: Donald Trumps shows Americans how to stand up to media bullying.

The reality is that the American people need to stand up to these pseudo-reporters, who on behalf of special interest groups and wealthy media owners are, knowingly or unknowingly, charged with facilitating cultural reengineering without the people’s knowledge and consent for the benefit of a few.

It is no secret that the Democratic candidates are cuddled by the mainly Leftist media while anyone who opposes their ideology (namely, “playing demigods”) is constantly under fire.

Toying with terminology in spreading confusion and intimating a free and democratic nation with censorship tactics such as political correctness and threats of legal actions in making certain thoughts and speech “illegal” are well-known tactics used by the Left to bully the American people.

The mainstream media’s refusal to report on or fully investigate wrong-doings by their “favorite” politicians, who have apparently sold their soul in furthering ideologies, and constant harassment of the public by audaciously promoting false idols as heroes and role-models need to come under tougher scrutiny by the American people.

Ancestral teachings known as “Pyrrhonic or Skeptical Philosophy” named after 3rd century BCE Greek philosopher Pyrrho of Elis, who formulated his views after encounters with the wisemen of Iran (known as “the Magi”) and India, is best utilized in handling the non-stop bombardment of so-called “news and information” spread by left-leaning mainstream outlets.

According to French philosopher Denis Diderot, in his 1765 article on the subject matter published by Encyclopédie ou Dictionnaire raisonné des sciences, des arts et des métiers:

“Pyrrhonism may be reached in two possible ways which are in opposition to each other: we adopt this philosophical point of view either because we know too little, or because we know too much…. A truth, whatever it may be, even if harmful for the present, will necessarily become useful in the future. A lie, whatever it may be, even if advantageous at present, will necessarily become harmful in time. To hold otherwise is to be unable to distinguish between truth and falsehood. As the Persians said, and as the skeptics repeat after them, doubt is the first step toward science or truth.

Whoever does not question will be sure of nothing; whoever does not doubt, will discover nothing and whoever discovers nothing is blind and will remain blind. Dissensions among men are caused by ignorance and lies: ignorance, which confuses everything and is opposed to everything, and lies, which can never be so firmly established in men’s minds that they are not suspect, open to challenge, and contested. Only in truth can man find tranquillity…. I am persuaded that no good can be achieved in this world that does not cause trouble, and truth is the greatest good. Sooner or later man will taste its sweetest fruit.”

Legitimate journalists are supposed to report truths and inform the public while remaining humble, not play or support demigods. In pursuing Truths, the American people should stand up to the Mainstream Media that so boldly and shamelessly acts very “por-roo” (پررو).

Regardless of Donald Trump’s place in American politics, he should not be the only one standing up to these illegitimate reporters smearing the noble intentions of that profession. For all of us who know deep down that someone or something has hijacked this nation with help from the current Mainstream Media, it is time to confront these bullying-agents!
