Swiss-educated Kim makes building luxury ski resort a top priority

SEOUL — North Korea’s Swiss-educated young leader Kim Jong-Un, who spent his first year in office enjoying amusement parks and a basketball game with Dennis Rodman, has now made the building of a luxury ski resort a national priority.

In January, Kim, who has been referred to as a “ski specialist” in the state-controlled media, ordered the building of a “world-class” ski resort near Wonsan on the country’s east coast.

He has funneled resources and mobilized troops for the project.

On June 5, Kim issued a public appeal to the military and the Cabinet calling for the “world class” ski resort featuring an airport, hotel, heliport, cable cars and other facilities to be completed this year.
