South Korea’s national flag seen and anthem heard for the first time in Pyongyang

The mercurial nature of North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un was further evidenced by his surprising decision to allow a South Korean weightlifting team to participate in the Pyongyang-hosted 2013 Asia Cup and Asia Club Weightlifting tournament.

Furthermore, for the first time, the stridently anti-Seoul regime allowed the South Korean weightlifting team to fly the South Korean national flag and play the South Korean national anthem, according to South Korean news reports.

The Pyongyang regime claims it represents all of the Korean Peninsula.

Pyongyang does not recognize the legitimacy of the South Korean government which it calls a puppet regime operated and controlled by the “imperialists” in Washington D.C.
