Russia, China to sign historic 30-year gas deal

The ten-year-long marathon negotiations between the energy monopolies of Russia and China is set to finally conclude.

The two countries are scheduled to sign a historic gas pipeline deal to supply Russian gas to China for 30 years starting in 2018.

According to the deal’s terms, Russia is to supply 38 billion cubic meters of gas very year to China at a fixed price which has not yet been announced.

But expert speculation estimates that China’s rate will range between $360 to $400 per 1,000 cubic meters.
