WASHINGTON — The U.S. intelligence community has become unwieldy and must be reduced, a report said.
A report said that the intelligence community could no longer be managed. The report, authored by a sociologist for the CIA, said intelligence agencies duplicated work and relayed too much data for analysis.
“I actually fear that the IC [intelligence community] is too big,” the report, quoting a CIA analyst, said. “It’s crossed the point where it’s [producing] healthy competitive analysis. We’ve gotten to the point where we’re in each other’s way. We’re hindering the mission.”
