N. Korea takes aim, literally, at S. Korean media offices

North Korea said its military has entered the map coordinates of certain conservative South Korean media offices and threatened to strike them for insulting its new ruler Kim Jong-Un.

The General Staff of the [North] Korean People’s Army said its troops have targeted the Seoul headquarters of the Chosun Ilbo, the nation’s largest newspaper, as well as the second-largest daily Joongang Ilbo and No. 3 Dong-a Ilbo newspapers.

In addition, it targeted KBS, MBC and SBS television stations and CBS radio.

It was the first time the North released coordinates of intended targets in South Korea.

Seoul, with the population of 20 million, is only 50 kilometers from the border and well within the North’s artillery and rocket range.
