N. Korea preparing miniaturized nuclear warheads for October military parade

SEOUL — North Korea has adopted a resolution authorizing the showcasing of miniaturized nuclear warheads at a military parade in October, military sources and analysts here said.

“The North has [signaled] that it plans to stage massive military parade to mark the Party’s 70th birthday, where it would show long-range ballistic missiles equipped with nuclear warheads,” a military source said. ”

The North has adopted a resolution under which the Stalinist nation will make all-out national efforts to develop “powerful,” “light,” “precise” and “cutting-edge” weapons, which would be essential to “cope with modern warfare.” …

The resolution was adopted at the Workers’ Party Politburo meeting held to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the communist party on Oct. 10, 1945, just after the end of World War II.
