BAGHDAD — Kurdistan, despite the war with Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, plans to increase crude oil exports.

oilThe Kurdistan Regional Government said it would bolster exports to Turkey and reach 400,000 barrels per day by 2015 and 500,000 three months later. KRG said the oil would flow through a pipeline from Kurdistan to neighboring Turkey.

“KRG remains on track to meet its production target of one million barrels per day by end 2015/early 2016,” the Kurdish National Resources Ministry said.

In a statement on Nov. 7, the KRG ministry said the flow rate through the Kurdistan pipeline to Turkey reached 300,000 barrels per day in the first week of November 2014. The ministry said KRG earned $2.1 billion from oil exports in 2014, much of which paid for the war against ISIL.
