TEL AVIV — An Israeli defense major has developed a cyber security
simulator.

Elbit Systems said the simulator was developed to train government and
military personnel to counter cyber warfare.

The Israeli company said the simulator would provide scenarios to prevent cyber attacks on computer networks.

“The simulator also offers training in prevention of cyber warfare
events, by simulating network protection scenarios,” Elbit said on June 5.

“It includes various network protection scenarios and allows debriefing and evaluation sessions in order to draw conclusions from the trainees’ training performance.”

Elbit general manager Bezhalel Machlis said variants of the simulator
have been supplied to an unidentified “international customer.” Machlis said his company has invested significantly in cyber technology as well as network and system protection.

Over the last year, Israel has sought to develop systems and techniques
against cyber warfare. Industry sources said cyber threats have been traced
to Iran and Pakistan.

“It [simulator] has attracted much attention from various customers in
Israel and abroad,” the company said.
