The statement said the two-week exercise, dubbed Juniper Stallion-2013, would focus on combat air operations and interoperability.

“Juniper Stallion 13 is a combined, bilateral F-15/F-16 air-to-air exercise designed to improve the interoperability and cooperation between the U.S. and Israeli air forces,” the military said. “JS13 is an annual training event which has been in planning for more than a year.”

The July 21 statement did not say how many assets would be deployed by the two countries. The Israeli military said the exercise was part of military cooperation with Washington.

“The exercise will last approximately two weeks, and is part of the
regularly scheduled training between the two nations,” the military said.
