Israel signs ‘strategic’ cyber security contracts with foreign customers

TEL AVIV — Israel’s leading defense contractor has reported cyber projects with foreign clients.

The state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries said it signed contracts worth “dozens of millions of dollars” at the end of 2014. IAI, the biggest defense contractor in Israel, said the contracts stipulated the supply of advanced technology to stop cyber attacks.

“The cyber arena requires reliable, strong and experienced solutions provider in order to allow appropriate, constant managing,” IAI cyber director Esti Peshin said.

IAI did not identify the end-users for the latest cyber contracts. But executives two contracts were signed with “strategic, defense, foreign customers.”

“IAI has defined cyber as a strategic domain and one of the company’s core areas of activity,” IAI said on Jan. 5.
