GAZA CITY — Qatar has sent its first fuel tranfer the Hamas
regime in the Gaza Strip.

Officials said a Qatari fuel tanker arrived at the Egyptian port of Suez
in May.

They said Israel has approved the transfer of the ship’s 30 million
liters of fuel in an effort to ease the energy crisis in the Gaza Strip.

“There is a dispute over how the fuel should be sent,” an official said.
Officials said Hamas wants the fuel to be transferred through the Rafah
terminal along the Gazan border with Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.

Israel, however, wants the fuel shipment to come through its territory and then to
the Gaza Strip.
