Iran’s Basij commander: U.S., Israeli ‘investments’ behind Paris attacks

Israel and the United States are responsible for the terror attacks in Paris as Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) is the two allies’ “infantry unit,” the leader of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force said.

“ISIL is the infantry unit of the U.S. and the usurper Zionist regime since they don’t have fighters today anymore and have lost power to fight, and they have created ISIL by making investment on the fools,” Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi said on Nov. 18, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

“Such events should happen in Europe in order for the U.S. and its hirelings to be able to justify their presence in the region and escape from criticisms.”

Naqdi included Saudi Arabia as among those responsible as the Sunni kingdom “founded” ISIL and is “the dealer of the recent incidents.”

“As long as the U.S. is unable to fill the banking accounts of its arms companies with the Saudis’ money, these wars and cruel massacres will continue,” Naqdi said.

Observers say that Naqdi’s statements, as baffling as they may seem, are similar to recent remarks by some European officials who blamed “frustration” at Israel for ISIL’s terror attacks in France.

Jan Marijnissen, head of the Dutch Socialist Party, on Nov. 16 said the attacks were “connected also to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.”

Also on Nov. 16, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom linked the attack to how “the Palestinians see that there is no future: we must either accept a desperate situation or resort to violence.”

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely called the comments “blatant and vile anti-Semitism” and the equivalent of a “blood libel.”

While nuclear negotiations between Iran and world powers were taking place in July, Naqdi said Iran hates America “100 times more” for its role in the nuclear agreement.

In March he said “wiping Israel off the map is not up for negotiation.”
