NICOSIA — Iran, relieved of some sanctions, has been wooing Western energy majors.
Officials said the Oil Ministry was in contact with seven Western oil companies to renew operations in Iran.
The companies were identified as Britain’s BP, the U.S. ExxonMobil and Conoco Phillips, France’s Total, Royal Dutch Shell, Italy’s ENI and Norway’s Statoil.
“For doing projects in Iran, we have no limitations,” Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said.
Zanganeh said the return of the companies were based on the expectation that international energy sanctions were lifted.
Zanganeh said the Oil Ministry would draft foreign investment terms for release in April 2014.
