On Jan. 19, the Iranian leadership convened to discuss the Israel Air Force strike in Syria’s Quneitra province. Officials said Israel’s military worked with Al Qaida’s Nusra Front for the Defense of Levant to identify and track the Hizbullah convoy.

“The move completes the performance of Tel Aviv’s rulers to use terrorism with the purpose of creating a buffer zone in the regime’s fake borders,” Iranian Supreme National Council secretary Ali Shamkhani said.

The Teheran regime provided few details of Allahdadi. In a statement on Jan. 19, IRGC said Allahdadi was advising the regime of President Bashar Assad on the war against Al Qaida-aligned militias and Israel.

“A number of fighters and forces of the Islamic resistance along with Brig. Gen. Mohammed Ali Allahdadi were visiting the region of Quneitra and were attacked by a military helicopter of the Zionist regime,” IRGC said.

“This brave general and some members of Hizbullah were martyred as a result of this crime.”

The Israeli attack, which also killed the Hizbullah commander for the Golan Heights, identified as, was said to have targeted the so-called Amal Farms some 60 kilometers south of Damascus. Officials said the Israel Air Force sent two unmanned aerial vehicles to track the Hizbullah convoy and provide battle damage assessment.

“Hizbullah will provide a severe and revolutionary response in due time and place,” Shamkhani, a former defense minister, said.
