LONDON — The International Atomic Energy Agency has reported that Iran was maintaining its nuclear program.

In a report, IAEA said the Teheran regime has refrained from
accelerating its nuclear program over the last three months.

The United Nations agency said Iran has maintained the pace of uranium enrichment in violation of Security Council resolutions.

“The rate of production of UF6 enriched up to five percent U235 remains similar to those indicated in the previous report,” the report, titled “Implementation of the IAEA Safeguards Agreement and Relevant Provisions of Security Council Resolutions in the Republic of Iran,” said.

Dated Nov. 14, the report said Iran has maintained UF6 enriched up to five percent at 7,154.3 kilograms. The agency said Teheran increased its stockpile of uranium enriched at 20 percent to 196 kilograms.

The report was the first issued since Iran renewed negotiations with
P5+1 for a resolution of the nuclear crisis. Despite infighting, Western
diplomats said an agreement could be achieved soon. Teheran has already
signed an initial cooperation agreement with IAEA.

“Much more is required to satisfy IAEA’s concerns about past or possibly
ongoing nuclear weapons work,” the Institute of Science and International
Security said.

IAEA said Iran has refrained from installing additional new IR-2
centrifuges at the Fuel Enrichment Plant in Natanz. None of the advanced
centrifuges already in the facility were said to have been fed with UF6.
Iran was also said to have suspended the installation of major
components at its IR-40 heavy reactor. The agency, however, reported
continued fuel assembly production at the Fuel Manufacturing Plant in
Isfahan.

“The production of UO2 [uranium dioxide] fuel assemblies for the reactor
has continued at FMP,” the report said. “No additional fuel assemblies have
yet been completed.”
