NICOSIA — The Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah has disclosed details of CIA officers
stationed in Lebanon, including their names and their recruitment and
operational methods.

Hizbullah has published information about the CIA officers in Lebanon, including their targets and goals, their methods of working and their names and fake names.

“The CIA officers were active in recruiting agents from various segments of the Lebanese society — government employees, security and military personnel, religious, banking and academic figures,” Hizbullah’s Al Manar television said.

Al Manar named the CIA agents in Lebanon as well as showed through animation how they met with Lebanese informants in Starbucks and Pizza Hut in Beirut.

Al Manar, based in Beirut, said in a report on Dec. 9 that the CIA
maintained 10 officers in Lebanon. Hizbullah said the officers, all of whom operated under diplomatic cover, were assigned to recruit informants and gather intelligence.

The CIA has dismissed the Hizbullah report.

The report marks the first time, the U.S. intelligence network in
Lebanon has been exposed.

Iran has also reported the capture of another alleged Israeli-U.S.
espionage network. The Teheran regime said 15 people were indicted on
charges of being linked to the CIA as well as Israel’s Mossad.

In November, U.S. officials acknowledged that the CIA sustained serious
setbacks in Iran and Lebanon. They said Hizbullah, believed to have broken
the communications of at least two espionage cells, rounded up suspected
Lebanese informants for the CIA in 2011.
