The nuclear deal signed by Iran and Western powers on July 14 will open up more cash for Iran to fund terrorism and lead to a Middle East arms race, exiled opposition leader Maryam Rajavi said.

Rajavi, president of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) who lives in exile in Paris, said in an interview on July 16 with the London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that Teheran has three guiding policy principles: its nuclear program, internal suppression of all opposition, and the export of terrorism.

Rajavi said that “the correct policy” for the West “is to back the Iranian people and the Iranian resistance in order to remove the regime.”

She added that “capitulations by the West to the clerical establishment” are “in the opposite direction of history.”

Rajavi noted that her concerns were supported by Iranian President Hassan Rowhani’s comment that the Western negotiators conceded to all of Iran’s goals.

She said the deal ignores Teheran’s covert nuclear installations, and mandates that the West will train Iran to defend its nuclear program from sabotage.

This, means a possible peaceful route for Israel to delay Iran’s race to the bomb would be nullified due to the West’s intervention, Rajavi said..
