Egyptian sources said unidentified attackers blew up the Arab Gas Pipeline in the Sinai Peninsula on Aug. 7.

The sources said this marked the eighth attack on the pipeline in 2014.

The bombing was said to have taken place near Sheik Zweid, a town next to the Sinai border with the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

The latest attack, detonated by remote control, again suspended gas supplies to neighboring Jordan.

The attacks have been attributed to Bedouin and Al Qaida-aligned insurgents as part of the revolt in Sinai. The sources said nobody was injured in the latest bombing.
