“The National Security Agency revealed that the leaders of the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood held a meeting during which they adopted a plan for Muslim Brotherhood escalation of hostilities within the country against military and police forces,” the ministry said on Nov. 30.

Officials said the the Brotherhood has gone underground in wake of the ouster of Egypt’s first Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi, in July 2013.

The officials said the Brotherhood was holding secret meetings in several provinces
to destabilize the country.

“The plan called for the broadening of the base of the [pro-Morsi]
coalition to create confusion and overwhelm the system,” the ministry said.
