“It has been proven without any doubt that the movement has committed acts of sabotage, assassinations, and the killing of innocent civilians and members of the armed forces and police in Egypt,” Judge Mohamed el-Sayed ruled according to the state news agency MENA.

The court found that Hamas had deployed heavy weapons against the army, and was coordinating with the Brotherhood.

Speaking for Hamas in Gaza, Mushir al-Masri called for the decision to be reversed.
“This ruling serves the Israeli occupation. It’s a politicized decision that constitutes the beginning of Egypt evading its role toward the Palestinian cause,: he said.

The ruling dealth another blow to Hamas and to the Muslim Brotherhood, which had taken power under the government of Mohammed Morsi.

On Jan. 31, the same court banned Hamas’ the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the Hamas military wing, as a terrorist organization.
