Beijing spins Taiwan’s election results which were disastrous for pro-China KMT

The Chinese state media launched a major propaganda campaign to explain the landslide defeat of the ruling KMT party in the recent Taiwan election.

The outcome had nothing to do with the current Taiwan administration’s pro-China policies and everything to do with bad economic policies, according to the idea war offensive.

Taiwanese voters on Nov. 29 soundly rejected the ruling KMT Party’s pro-China stance and dealt President Ma Ying-jeou yet another devastating blow. Of the 22 counties where county chief executives were at stake, the KMT won only 6, with the rest secured by Democratic Progressive Party or DPP candidates favoring independence.

Taiwanese voters are overwhelmingly against any conciliatory talks or negotiations with Beijing’s communist government on any form of “unification” with China.
