Prime contractor Noble Energy has awarded a $27 million contract to test
wells and provide equipment for the Tamar gas field in the Mediterranean
Sea. The winner, Britain's Expro, was assigned to provide advanced
technology to expand operations at Tamar this May, Middle East Newsline reported.
"We are very excited about this project in terms of its size, but also
in terms of its significance and long-term impact on the geo-political
landscape of Israel," Keith Palmer, Expro's Europe regional director, said.

Tamar was one of at least two wells targeted for development by Nobel
Energy in Israel. Officials said Israel could find sufficient gas reserves
to make the Jewish state into an exporter.
