U.S. intel: Iran network funding Al Qaida ops in Afghanistan, Pakistan
WASHINGTON — The United States has determined that Iran and Al Qaida were engaged in secret cooperation.
Officials said the U.S. intelligence community has assessed that Iran was helping to finance Al Qaida attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The community has identified Al Qaida operatives who worked with Iran in recruitment, funding other operations.
