U.S. may redeploy attack drones to Pacific to answer China buildup
The Pentagon is studying the re-deployment of attack drones to the U.S. Pacific Command, a further indication of the shift of forces to the Pacific theater in response to China's military buildup.
A defense official said that Pacom is among several commands likely to get some of the advanced surveillance and missile-carrying Predators and Reapers, once operations end in Iraq at the end of 2011 and are drawn down sharply in Afghanistan over the next several years.
