WASHINGTON — Crown Prince Sultan, reported to suffer from Alzheimer's disease, has been thrust into another attempt to become the next king of Saudi Arabia. Western diplomats and analysts said Sultan, who is also the kingdom's defense minister, has raised his profile significantly over the last month.
