As Middle East heaves, Turkey is emerging as new Arab role model
ABU DHABI — Turkey has been designated a model for the Arab world amid unprecedented unrest in the Middle East.
Analysts said Turkey marked the only Islamic democracy in the region. They said the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan demonstrated how democracy could coexist with Islamic principles.
