Feeling the heat, Saudis scale back religious police operations
ABU DHABI — Saudi Arabia, amid rising criticism, has quietly reduced the operations of its controversial religious police force.
The Saudi Interior Ministry has restricted operations of the religious police, formally known as the Saudi Committee for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
