U.S. Navy develops laser that could destroy anti-ship missiles
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Navy Office of Naval Research has achieved what officials are calling a breakthrough in the development of a free electron laser.
The officials said the program has so far demonstrated the operation of an injector that was capable of producing electrons to generate megawatt-class laser beams.
