Cable detailed extensive fundraising for terror in Gulf states, Pakistan
Saudi Arabia remains a major source of funding for the Al Qaida terrorist group and other Sunni extremists despite nearly 10 years of U.S. efforts to block financing for such groups, according to a Dec. 30, 2009 cable made public recently.
Other states such as Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Pakistan are also major sources of funds for Islamist terrorism.
