DNI confirms China diverted Internet traffic, affecting U.S. government and military sites, top corporations
China's diversion of Internet traffic is part of the growing cyber threat to U.S. and international computer networks, the director of national intelligence said last week.
DNI James Clapper said in prepared testimony to the House Intelligence Committee that, in April, a large number of routing paths to various Internet Protocol addresses were redirected through networks in China for 17 minutes, allegedly due to inaccurate information posted by a Chinese Internet Service Provider.
