Disgruntled Yemeni tribes have resumed attacks on the nation's crude oil
and natural gas industry. Officials said tribes have been targeting energy
facilities and attacking foreign workers.
On May 16, three Chinese engineers and four Yemeni soldiers were
abducted by fighters from the Aqmur tribe in the Shawah province, Middle East Newsline reported.

The engineers were said to have been based in the Mesila oil field, operated by
Nibras Oil.
Officials said tension between Aqmur and Mesila rose in May 2010 after
an attack on the oil facility. They said security forces have been searching
for the abducted Chinese and Yemenis.
"All facilities in the area have been placed on high alert," an official
said.
