ABU DHABI — Iran has offered both conventional and nuclear energy cooperation to neighboring
Bahrain.
Officials said Iran was prepared to assist Bahrain to develop energy
resources.
"Our progress in this field will yield benefits to the region, and we
are fully prepared for multilateral cooperation," Iranian ambassador to
Manama, Hussein Amir Abdul Lahyan, said.

At an April 7 news conference, Lahyan said Teheran was willing to share
its nuclear and other energy technology with Gulf Cooperation Council and
additional regional states.
The ambassador said Bahrain and other GCC
countries also accept Teheran's nuclear energy program, particularly its
reactor in Bushehr.
"We want to ensure Bahrainis that they have nothing to worry about
because we have over 4,000 Iranian and Russian scientists working in that
plant and all their tests have so far been successful," Lahyan said.
"There
is no need for concern. On the contrary, we call on countries in the
region to follow our steps and benefit from the plant."
