New Turkish threat assessment cites Israel, downgrades Iran, Syria

TEL AVIV — Israel's government was believed to be concerned over Turkey's new threat assessment doctrine, a report said. A report by Israel's Institute for National Security Studies said Turkey has drafted a new threat perception document that warns of Israel while playing down such countries as Iran and Syria. INSS said the document by the Turkish intelligence community, called the Red Book, could result in significant changes in Ankara's military and defense procurement policy.
