Senior Obama administration officials briefed reporters and Congress last week on the latest progress report on the war in Afghanistan and concluded that the war is showing signs of progress but remains far from being over. While security is slowly being imposed on the impoverished Southwest Asian state, kinetic activity in many parts of the country remain high, according to a biannual report to Congress.
