U.S. developing an unmanned aerial vehicle powered by a laser beam

WASHINGTON — The U.S. military has been examining a laser-powered unmanned aerial vehicle. A U.S. company has briefed the military on a laser-powered remote controlled helicopter. LaserMotive, based in Kent, Wa., has assembled a prototype that uses a laser beam to supply an endless supply of power to the helicopter.
