Syria said to regain dominance over Lebanon lost during Bush years

ANKARA — Syria, with help from Saudi Arabia, has restored its domination of neighboring Lebanon, a leading analyst said. The U.S. analyst said President Bashar Assad has renewed Syrian "political primacy" over Lebanon. Joshua Landis, regarded as having close ties to the Assad regime, said Syria has turned back the clock to the eve of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
