White House OKs massive $60 billion military upgrade for Saudis
WASHINGTON — Officials said the administration of President Barack Obama has approved a request by Saudi Arabia for the upgrade of its missile defense network. They said the project would exceed $10 billion and include the sale of such assets as the PAC-3 and the Terminal High Altitude Defense system.
Officials said the overall Saudi arms proposal could exceed $60 billion and include 84 F-15 fighter-jets and 132 military helicopters.
